• This is the coolest sock I've made yet. Second one is on the needle now. Can't wait until my husband has the set.

I had to rework the pattern (my husband has large feet, but rather slim/sinewy ankles) and decreased the starting stitches. The yarn is sock serama from Chicken Lady Fiber Arts, all American made yarns!

    • A success, a disaster and a snow day. On my 3rd pair of socks (ever!) and very first adult sock. Loving the color combination. My mom's shawl got caught by my sister's dog - I'm pretty sure I can fix this! And my girls had a super good snow play with the sled the eldest got for Christmas. First time they got to use it. 馃檪馃┓

Softest things EVER. Only took less than an hour to do one. Have enough yarn left for about 1 more booty. MUST do the YO elastic BO. (yo, knit 1, BO. yo, k1, bo yo then bo st on right needle.) Might want to do a draw string somehow. Not sure if they’ll stay on babe. Probably not, but what sock/shoe does?

I am using my Japanese Stitch Bible picked a leaf lace pattern.. I am doing a Toe-Up, afterthought heel.
      M1R back to front
      M1L Front to back
4/3 Through 1 set of the lace pattern.
4/5 placed the afterthought heel on sock 1, put sock 2 on the working needles. Two full sets of the lace pattern=7.25”.
4/22 cast off 2nd sock. On to the afterthought heel.
4/23 Things I wish I had done. Although I used a lifeline on the bottom of the heel setup, I wish I had placed one on the top as well. I also wish I had knit one complete row on the top instead of starting out with the lace pattern. Live and learn.
      7/24. Off needles and blocking
Took 2nd place @ the Monterey County Fair 2022

My friend Linda granddaughter is marrying a Marine. Her daughter knit him a pair of these socks and he said it was a game changer. He wore them for five days straight! I think he needs another pair!! I love to knit for servicemen and it’s especially fun when you know where it’s going!

      9”=74 rows
I hand washed these and dried in dryer. Came out smaller and a bit used looking. Husband says they feel great. I think if you laid flat to dry they would stay the same size. I’ll make again.

I was home sick for a couple of days, so I cast these slipper socks on. I didn't read the instructions all the way through, so the pattern on the slippers isn't to pattern, but they knit up well and I like them. I plan on knitting up another pair and I'll follow the directions. We will see how they fit. I'll try to get pic posted tonight

I’ve been wanting to make socks from my “52 Weeks of Socks” for a couple of years. Not too sure how well the cable is going to show as I’m using a self striping yarn. We shall see.

    • Michelle Obama was just on the cover of Vogue knitting. It’s cool that someone with her platform can promote knitting. However I find it odd that there was not one single picture of any knitting in the whole article. Not a mitten, sock, scarf or baby blanket. Am I the only one that thinks this is weird? It’s a KNITTING magazine for crying out loud!

    • In looking at my last projects you’ll notice hats! Lots of them. It’s been below zero and hat knitting satisfies that instant gratification! Don’t worry, I have 2 other projects that are lace and still have months to go! Plus a shawl, socks, baby blanket, dish rags, oh and a tea towel.

Planning on using a stitch pattern from the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hidomi Shida. The his book was a gift from my soon to be son in law.

      11/16/19 CO 72 German twist. 1” in 1x1 rib.
      11/17 decrease 4. (68)

12/8 got through the leg and foot of the first sock. Started in on the second leg. You would think this pattern would get easier over time, but no way Jose. I have reworked the first 3 pattern rows on the 2nd sock all day.

12/17 sick once again. I hear it takes 3 years to work up an immunity at a new school. Either that or I have just gotten old and can’t stave these things off. Anyway I finished the 2nd sock tube. The pattern finally got easier. On to the heels and toes.
Did two pattern repeats to heel, two pattern repeats to toe.
      Finished the socks
