          No yarn overs

Materials: Sugar and Cream yarn; Size 6 or 7 needles (US)
Cast on 4 stitches
Row 1: Knit 4
Row 2: Knit 2, yarn over, knit across the row.
Repeat Row 2 until you have 44 stitches on the needle. (Or as wide as you like)
Row 3: Knit 1, Knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit to the end of the row.
Repeat Row 3 until you have 4 stitches on the needle.
Bind off

There are many variations of this pattern.  I sometimes leave off the yarn over and do a kfb instead.  (this is the red and white picture above.  It took a little less than half skein)

Usually I like these smaller than 44 stitches.

If you haven't made these, be careful!  They go fast but if you give one away, you'll be making them for the rest of eternity!  Everyone loves them.

These are baby blankets I made out of the same dishcloth pattern. Knit on size US 11 needles. You can use however much yarn you have.  Knit until half of your yarn is gone then start the decreases. The yarn for the blue and pink one is Trendsetter Pandora. The aqua one has a crochet shell border.  The free pattern Cambria Blanket is the same pattern also with a picot border added.
