Monterey County Fair’s featured item is hand covers, so I bought 2 patterns. One simple and one complex. Starting with the simple one.
After casting on 65 GT using size 2, frog, 1.5, frog I settled on size 1 needles.
4/29 finished 3 cm 1x1 rib on right mitten
5/7 one down, one to go, will do the thumbs last.
5/13/22 off needles last night, but I had to do a bit of duplicate stitch on the bottom wave. I had gotten off stitch count on the bottom wave. I wish I had noticed earlier.

12 rows or 3 cm 1x1 ribs
5/15 modifying the thumb to an afterthought. Hopefully that will make it a smoother join. I did this technique when I made my little elephant. Having a small issue with the white yarn, even though all the yarn is fingering weight, the white is slightly thinner, so when I am changing from side to side, the white stitch is wonky. Hopefully that will block out.
6/12 I finished these a couple of weeks ago, but I ordered new yarn for the yellow area. In real life there is not enough contrast between the yellow and the white, though it photographed ok. So I am going to rip out the yellow and redo it in turmeric. I suck at duplicate stitch!

Softest things EVER. Only took less than an hour to do one. Have enough yarn left for about 1 more booty. MUST do the YO elastic BO. (yo, knit 1, BO. yo, k1, bo yo then bo st on right needle.) Might want to do a draw string somehow. Not sure if they’ll stay on babe. Probably not, but what sock/shoe does?
